5Garmin Speed & Cadence Sensor  Mar 12, 2011
By Alfred S. Smith
Ordered this to put on my second bike to use the same Garmin 500 on both. Easy to install and setup. Once you familiarize switching from bike 1 to bike 2 it is really simple.

5Garmin USA Speed Cadence Sensor 010-10644-00  Apr 27, 2012

I have used several different types of bicycle computers and I like the Garmin Edge 500 the best of all I've used so far. The Speed Cadence Sensor is an integral component of the system and works flawlessly.

I bought this Garmin candence / speed sensor to go with edge 500. It was great to find it on Amazon for half the price I was planning on spending. It works great and is very helpful!

5Works well with Garmin Forerunner 305  Jul 20, 2011
By biker_and_hiker
I've been using this Garmin cadence sensor 010-10644-00 with the Garmin Forerunner 305 for 4 months now and it has never let me down. When mounted firmly with the zip ties, it stays put and doesn't move. I've used this sensor on a steel frame (small diameter chainstays) and on a carbon frame (with 'aero'/unusually shaped chainstays) and it has tightened down well and not moved. As far as functionality, it works as advertised: accurate speed and cadence.

I would not hesitate to recommend this sensor (and the Forerunner 305).

The sensor connects/links easily and quickly with the Garmin Forerunners. Installing the unit took quite a bit of trial and error. First you gotta make sure the tiny magnet can be correctly setup on your crank. Once it's stuck on, then you also have to zip-tie it on. Some cranks don't have a smooth inner area, some are hollowed out and not flat, so the sticking and zipping can be tricky. So once you get the crank-arm issue set up... on to the chain stay. That's the part on the bike you mount the sensor. It's a balancing act between getting enough room/distance for both the crank sensor and wheel sensor to align. too far back and the speed may hit your spokes... too far forward and the speed will not register, but the cadence will. ETC. One bike I did was easy took 5 minutes. Another bike was trickier and took a bit longer. But when it's installed it woks like a charm.

knowing my cadence has been the biggest help to improving my cycling skills.
